ALLISON

GRUDER

After completing a bachelor's degree in Psychology from SUNY New Paltz, Allison earned a master's degree from Fairfield University in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Allison holds licenses in both Connecticut and New York. Areas of emphasis within her psychotherapy practice include, but are not limited to: stress management, marital issues, conflict resolution, infidelity, communication skills, assertiveness training, women's issues, self-esteem and confidence building, parenting, career and life transitions, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief and bereavement.

Hypnotherapy has become widely recognized for assisting in the treatment of assorted issues and conditions. As a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Allison treats many of these, ranging from: smoking cessation, weight-loss, phobias, fatigue, insomnia, stress, OCD, lack of motivation, decreased sexual desire, anxiety, depression, as well as to change habits and patterns you no longer wish to have.

 

She is also a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT). This form of treatment is the most widely used evidence-based practice for improving mental health. Research shows this technique is an effective therapy for not only anxiety, depression and panic disorder, but many illness and dysfunctional behaviors, as well.

 

Allison is a clinical member in good standing of both the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the Connecticut Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CTAMFT), as well as a professional member of  the International Association of Counselors and Therapists (IACT).

A longtime resident of Fairfield, Allison is a happily married, busy mom of three children.
